Returning player spotlight: Devin Burkes
Burkes is back for his fifth season, providing Kentucky with one of its longest-tenured players in the program.
When Kentucky fans tune in for baseball in the spring, the most recognizable face on the team will be catcher Devin Burkes. Burkes returns as a fifth-year senior and has more starts than any other player on the roster this year.

A 6-3, 215-pounder from Bradenton, Florida, Burkes will enter the 2025 season poised to be the starting catcher for the third straight season. He took over late in the 2022 season and was impressive in a small sample size as he slashed .378/.540/.730 in 52 plate appearances with four doubles, three home runs and 10 runs batted in.
